Three-Cheese Mixture Recipe

A Delicious Three-Cheese Mixture Recipe

In California during World War II, the imported Parmesan cheese was scarce so the Italians who lived there turned to the Monterey Jack. They coated it with pepper, cocoa, olive oil, aged it for at least 9 months and the result was a nutty, hard cheese similar to the one in the Italian cousin.

Nowadays the Parmesan cheese or Parmigiano as the Italians call it, can be found everywhere but the Monterey Jack still has its place in many Italian-American recipes.

And this is from where the inspiration of this delicious recipe came from.

SERVES: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1⁄3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1⁄3 cup dry Monterey Jack
  • 1⁄3 cup Romano cheese

Instructions:

  1. Grate all three cheeses by hand or in a food processor if you prefer (or if you’re lazy). Mix them well and store in a covered container for up to three months.
  2. After waiting for so long, you may now open the container and enjoy your unique and delicious cheese mix!

I hope you like it!
