Exclusive Banana Cream Pie Recipe

Delicious Banana Cream Pie Easy Recipe

This is an easy BANANA CREAM PIE recipe with a few ‘add ons’ that aren’t included in the original recipe which everyone is used to, making it exclusive, delicious, and much more tasty.

The common banana cream pie dessert normally comes just with whipped cream, but in this recipe we’ll be adding chocolate and sliced bananas to the hot and simple custard to increase it’s flavor.

SERVES/YIELD: 8

Ingredients:

  • Prebaked 9″ pie crust
  • 2 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 sliced bananas
  • 1 cup chilled heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions:

1 – Melt 2 ounces of your bittersweet chocolate with 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil and brush over the prebaked 9″ pie crust, then chill until set.

2 – Meanwhile, whisk 3 large egg yolks, 3 tablespoons cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar, and a pinch of salt in a medium saucepan, off heat, until it’s smooth. Gradually whisk in 2 cups of whole milk. Whisking constantly, bring it to a full boil over medium heat and boil it until it thickens. That’s for about 1 minute.

3 – Remove from the heat and whisk in 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract. Fold in 3 sliced bananas and let it slightly cool down.

4 – Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it chill for at least 3 hours or up to 1 day until it’s firm.

5 – Beat 1 cup of chilled heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoons of vanilla extract until firm peaks form. Then spoon over the pie and swirl decoratively.

ENJOY!
